Reverse side: Large red border with two slogans.
Colours (text & envelope): Red on white.
Size of envelope overall: 88 × 145 mm.

Unused window delivery envelope.

Characteristics:

  • very small font for form number;
  • reasonable spacing after (gra)M, to the right of the window and underneath the window;
  • all four slogans relate to telegrams or other postal/telephone issues;
  • window does not extend to borders at the sides or at the base;
  • thin border around the window.

 

AB-EU-5A rev AB-EU-5A (reverse).

  • rectangular flap with straight sides;
  • flap is 37 mm high;
  • slogans are for the peace time matters of AIR MAIL and the CORRECT TIME.

 

AB-EU-5Ab AB-EU-5B.

Unused window delivery envelope.

Note:

  • normal font for form number;
  • very little spacing after (gra)M or to the right of the window and no spacing between the window and the border;
  • flap design is the same;
  • borders are much smaller;
  • advertisement and slogan on the front are the same as previously;
  • slightly thicker border around the window.

  • flap is 34 mm high;
  • slogans have changed but are still for the peace time matters of POST EARLY and the HANDSET TELEPHONE.

 

AB-EU-5C AB-EU-5C.

Unused window delivery envelope.

Characteristics:

  • slogan above the window is war-related (for the R.A.A.F. and very rarely seen);
  • space between 5 and A in form number;
  • window does not extend to borders at the sides or at the base;
  • thin border around the window.

  • slogans have changed and the top slogan references the DEFENCE FORCES. The lower slogan is for ... THE CORRECT TIME ....
EU-5D AB-EU-5D.

Used window delivery envelope for telegram AB-DU-11A.
2 June 1943 at CTO Melbourne.

Characteristics:

  • Form number changed to T.G. 65C - the same as for the corresponding opaque envelope. This change is considered to be a printing error;
  • slogans on the front are the same as for EU-5A.

Characteristics:

  • rectangular flap with straight sides;
  • flap is 41 mm high;
  • slogans are peace-time themes with the top slogan being FOR YOUR URGENT LETTERS - THE AIR MAIL as for EU-5A. The lower slogan is for ... THE MODERN HANDSET .... as for EU-5B.

    The formating for the 2nd advertisement differs from that previously. In addition, two sets of horizontal lines surround the 2nd advertisement.
